Join BARPCV for a Pre-Thanksgiving event at the Red Cross Food Bank.
Since 1982, Boston Red Cross has worked to alleviate hunger and food insecurity among low-income communities throughout the Boston area. 75% of the food distributed is fresh produce and is given with sensitivity towards sustainability and the environment.
Volunteer Details:
When: Saturday, Nov. 16th from 8:00 a.m. to noon
Where: 1033 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, MA 02118 (entrance door is on Proctor Street or through back door behind building))
What : Assemble, package and distribute food for customers. Dress comfortable with sensible shoes.
Parking: There is limited parking directly behind the 1033 Mass Ave. building. Turn into the Liquor Land parking lot from Mass Ave. and proceed behind the building. You will see American Red Cross trucks parked on both sides of the alley. You can park on either side behind the trucks. Please do not park along the fence facing the playground and basketball courts. This is parking for Liquor Land and cars will be towed. If there are no available spots, you will need to find parking on the street. Parking at South Bay Shopping Center may result in ticketing/towing.
