Volunteering with The Food Project

Oct 27 2012 - 9:30am - 12:30pm

Volunteering with The Food Project- Saturday October 27th, 2012, 9:30am- 12:30pm
The Food Project's mission is to grow a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. We produce healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs and provide youth leadership opportunities. Most importantly, we strive to inspire and support others to create change in their own communities.
In our Serve & Grow farm work volunteer program, volunteers visit our farm for three-hour sessions on weekday and weekend mornings to learn a little about TFP and problems in the food system and to help us with farm work such as planting, harvesting, weeding, and preparing beds.
TFP suggests a donation of $10 from each volunteer to offset their staffing and supplies cost, but this is not required and they do not want it to be prevent anyone from volunteering. There is a cap of 25 volunteers per event.  Please RSVP for this event so we know who is coming.
