BARPCV Community Grant: Sukuvi - Community Supported Loans for Togolese Students in Need
Boston area RPCV Emily Lagasse (Togo 2008-2010) was recently awarded a BARPCV community grant! The objective of her project is to provide micro loans to qualified and disadvantaged high school graduates from the Centrale region of Togo in an effort to help offset the costs associated with attending university. The project, named Sukuvi, has garnered support from Togolese village savings and loan groups and is approaching its second year of implementation. BARPCV is proud to sponsor this innovative project and looks forward to funding similar projects in the future through its Community Grants program.
