New Book Release: When the World Calls: The Inside Story of the Peace Corps and Its First Fifty Years
1/31/11 - When the World Calls: The Inside Story of the Peace Corps and Its First Fifty Years will be published on February 21 by Beacon Press of Boston, a couple of weeks before the 50th anniversary of the JFK executive order creating the Peace Corps. The book's author, Stanley Meisler was deputy director of the Peace Corps office of evaluation and research during the mid-1960s and followed the work of the Volunteers afterward as a foreign and diplomatic correspondent for the Los Angeles Times for thirty years.
